Did you know you can download movies on iTunes?
The back to school routines have begun and the nights are getting colder and darker. The children will soon be spending more time indoors again and thankfully iTunes have introduced us to downloading films which we can all watch together. I didn’t even know you could download films via iTunes until last week!
I have been rather late to the iTunes and apps party, only recently starting to enjoy the benefits, which is ridiculous since I have discovered how easy it all is! I am desperate for an iPad and can only hope that hubby gets the messsage in time for Christmas!
To download one of the hundreds of films (or movies as my 11yr old insists on calling them) all you need is your iTunes account (which is easy and free to download by the way) and you browse the available titles, choose whether to buy or rent and then start the download.
We had ago with the new children’s film ‘Hop’. It really was a simple process the download took just over a hour to complete but you can download more than one simultaneously if you want.
The advantages of iTunes for movies:
1. Ease of use – simply download and watch movies wherever you are, this is fab and means they can be watched in the car on long journeys, or anywhere that suits you, if your watching on an iPad the possibilities are endless really.
2· All new titles are now available in all formats from day of release, so you can choose to watch HOP whenever, wherever and however you like. The movie is available on DVD, Blu-ray and iTunes download (plus Xbox, PlayStation, Sky Box Office, BT Vision and BlinkBox!) Therefore you don’t have to wait any longer to view them this way.

Now the summer is over its definitely movie night in our house again at the weekends and doing it through iTunes means that I don’t have to order films days in advance and wait for them to drop through the door. You literally have hundreds to choose from at the touch of your keyboard. Prices range between new releases and older films and is therefore the cost is no different from buying it in a traditional format, but what it does do is also save you space as you don’t have to store the disc and even better you can’t lose the disc like my children have a habit of doing – or more annoyingly putting it back in the wrong case so it takes ages to find what you want!
iTunes movies are so easy and now i’m off to find browse the store and get ready for the back to school rush and cosy family nights in at the weekend.
I was gifted the Summer Wind-down Package’ which includes HOP, Despicable Me and some film merchandise goody bags for the kids plus The Adjustment Bureau, a bottle of wine and some chocolates for you for the purpose of the review although the thoughts and opinions are all my own.
