FAB Effex – review

Written by Emma. Posted in Uncategorized

FAB Effex is a new craft material it is a fabric that moldable, reusable and magically sticks.  Chloe was sent a pack of Fab Effex to try out and as you will see from the photo’s her friends and her spent a good while playing with this.  The pack consists of some templates you can decorate and other material which you cut out yourself.

They started off using the template and had a bit of friendly rivalry to see who designed their fashion outfit the best!  What I, and they liked was that there is no mess involved which means I don’t insist on them doing it at the dining room table!  They were able to stay tucked away in her bedroom (which is where most 11yr olds seem to want to be!)  I was rather surprised when I found them decorating the doll cut out as I thought they would feel this was babyish – but they didn’t, possibly as they are all turning more fashion conscious so they liked putting an outfit together!

Their finished designs.

However that wasn’t where it ended, they were soon customising their mobile phones and again what I love about that is it is not permanent.  Chloe decorated her’s with hearts and stars.  It makes it unique and encourages their creativity but allows them to change their mind and start again as it is not permanent.

Chloe really enjoyed the FAB Effex set which is aimed at 6+ and is available from Argos and Play.com – dare I even say that it would make a good christmas present!

We were gifted the Fab Effex set for the purpose of the review but all pictures, thoughts and opinions are my own.
