Frankie and Benny’s Local Review
Easter holidays and my birthday, what better reason than to head to Frankie and Benny’s for a date night with the husband. I think the last time we went out was my birthday the year before – but I guess that’s a reality when you have a young family of three children.
We headed to our local Gloucester branch to check out the new menu and sample it’s delights. On arriving we decided to have a quick drink at the bar to make the most of our child free evening. We are not strangers to Frankie and Benny’s as we like the lunch menu and generally treat the kids every once in a while. We actually have always found it good value and family friendly.
However this was our grown up night and we ate off the main menu. The restaurant was reasonably busy for a Tuesday evening which meant there was a nice atmosphere, however our first table was freezing cold as we were sat under the air con machine, but we were moved the minute we asked for an alternative table.
For starters I chose ‘garlic and cheese mushrooms and Lee had the chicken wings. They are arrived quickly and were delicious. There were plenty of mushrooms which were laden over a ciabatta bread. For our mains we both ordered a larder trimmed sirloin which was cooked to perfection. It was a good size and full of flavour. I can’t cook steak which is probably why we both chose it! I recommend this dish!
Finally I over indulged in a cinnamon waffle – well thats complusory if you are in Frankie and Benny’s isn’t it?
We had good service from our waitress who checked a couple of times that we had everything we needed and that the meals were as expected. We had a lovely evening and would like to thank Frankie and Benny’s for their hospitality.
Disclosure – This is a review, I was given a voucher for the meal out although the thoughts and opinions are all my own. We attended the St Oswalds Retail Park branch in Gloucester.
