The end of the term is within touching distance and thoughts are turning to the holidays. From thinking we were not having a holiday this summer I have landed two! First off I am taking the teen off to Spain for five days for a mother / daughter holiday. After the rubbish time Chloe has had after breaking her ankle then going back into plaster just a week later, the husband surprised us with a few days relaxing on the beach. He is staying at home with the other two and will be having an extended trip to nanny and grandads instead. Chloe and I are really quite alike which has become more apparent the older she gets. Our plans are very similar and I know she will be great company!
Chloe and me have great plans from paragliding together, something she has never done. We will also indulge with lie ins and reading magazines on the beach. We plan to para-glide as we both love adrenalin based activities, which is another trait we share! This is clearly one of the benefits of having a teen that you can share these times with. We both like watersports, I’m sure we would both be at home living by the sea in superyachts if we had the money – maybe next time we could persuade / drop hints to Lee to buy us a second home! For now we shall make do with beautiful Spain!
Once back in the UK we have plans for a more active holiday. We shall being heading to Trevella as a family where we will enjoy numerous activities like den building with the park ranger they have on hand during the summer months. Cornwall is another beautiful part of the country and we love the beaches there too. I plan on visiting Flambards whilst there as we have heard really good things about the place, plus the rides will be good practice for Disney next year! Dyl hasn’t yet found his adventure streak so I am hoping this summer he will start trying more new things. I imagine Erin will be up for the more gentle rides as she does seem quite brave. I expect that we shall find ourselves wishing we lived in the country which is what usually happens when we are travelling the UK and having fabulous quality family time! We end up searching for houses for sale in Scotland or somewhere else based on having had a good trip! It is that little bit of don’t ever let the holiday end and the pressures of normal home life and work start again!
So the holiday countdown is on! Just six more teaching days left for me!
