Lazy mornings in the holidays.
My favourite thing about the summer holidays is that all of us are off together. Our term time is crazy busy. Between the five of us we go to four different schools each day plus Erin’s nursery. That’s four sets of everything, four timetables, four lunchboxes, fours sets of parents evenings and after school clubs. Therefore the school holidays are special, we don’t long for them to end. We take our time, we just hang out.
The mornings are always especially chilled, we get up slowly, we have lazy breakfasts and often don’t get dressed till mid morning. Having two tweenagers means they are not early risers anyway. We watch DVD’s in the evenings, have late nights and later mornings. Thankfully Erin indulges us and plays the same game.
Our breakfasts become social, we take our time get in some nice treats. The kids like croissants, waffles and pancakes. Things we just don’t have time for in term time. This week they have also been enjoying shaken udder milkshakes and the verdict has been great. They actually taste real, not artificial, this is no surprise as they are made from British milk and natural products. They are enriched with selenium and are low fat. Therefore they suit are lazy mornings with croissants. I know they are helping give the children and me a good start to the day. Chloe’s favourite has been the banana flavour with real bananas in.
The shaken udder milkshakes are available from Sainsburys, Tesco’s and other leading supermarkets. We were sent a selection of milkshakes for our lazy mornings, although the thoughts and pictures are all our own handiwork.
