Jenny Craig week 2 review

Written by Emma. Posted in Reviews, Uncategorized

I am nearing the end of my initial two week trial – yes I said initial as I have been invitied to continue on the Jenny Craig diet food plan.  I am so excited by this as I have been really focused and stuck to the plan.  The food is varied from prawn korma (my favourite) to pasta dishes.  I love the convenience of not having to count the calories myself, it is so simple and I just follow each days menu.

I am thrilled to see the scales showing less and less.  I am not supposed to weigh myself more than once a week, but I’m not very patient and do check my weight in the morning.  However I know I am losing as I can feel it all over.  The muffin top is declining, clothes feel better and I feel more alert.  It’s a couple of weeks till my holiday and I already feel better about being in a bikini!!

My telephone consultation this week was really insightful, we talked about my food triggers and for me it is mid afternoon.  Therefore I have an extra fruit salad ready in the fridge for if I am about to cave in.  We alse discussed activity levels and as a result I have even found myself doing some sit ups this week, I know my mind is in a good place to do this at the moment and Jenny Craig is just making it so easy.

Week 1 of Jenny Craig Review

Written by Emma. Posted in Reviews

It’s nearly holiday time and I have been quite good over the past month dieting to get bikini ready.  Over the past year whilst I have been off work with Erin the weight crept up a bit. I would like to lose another stone but not sure I can do that in the short time left before my holiday. However Jenny Craig are now helping me all the way and I am hopeful to lost half a stone!

I doubt you have missed the TV adverts with the gorgeous Mel B – well I doubt I’ll end up as toned as her but I can but try! Jenny Craig appealed to me as all diet meals delivered straight to your door. Therefore after a phone consultation the food hamper arrived within two days. I received my breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and it all sounded delicious.

After a phone call with a consultant where she ran through the programme with me I was reassured this was straight forward to follow.   I have stuck my personalised meal planner menu (all done for me) on the kitchen wall and started on Saturday morning.

I can honestly say this is so easy, one of the best things I have learnt this week is that it is not so much about what I have been eating more about portion sizes. I simply was having too much on my plate. I haven’t been hungry following the plan and have enjoyed my meals.  You even get snacks!!

Two of the lunches have been noodles and a potato dish. Both of these came in pot noodle type dishes and you just add water, at first I was dubious I didn’t expect them to be appetising or fill me up. I was so wrong, I was to add protien to the noodles so threw in some prawns (measured out in the handy measuring cup you get in the first hamper) and the meal has so far been one of my favourites. I have also been drinking much more water as I know I don’t drink enough. My consultant advised I drink two litres a day and gave me the tip to fill a two litre bottle at the start of the day and then I’ll know when I have achieved this. I have been doing this since Saturday and feel much more alert. I know that this is something I need to keep up.

I feel less bloated and slimmer already. I am really looking forward to weighing myself on Saturday to see how much is off!

Disclosure, this is a review and I have been gifted a two week hamper of Jenny Craig food plus the telephone consultations, but the thoughts and opinions are all my own.

Thinking Slimmer – the starting point.

Written by Emma. Posted in Uncategorized

Having tried so many diets in the past, some with more success than others I am looking for a permanent way to lose weight.  For the weight to stay off – for me to totally change my relationship with food – especially the sweet stuff!

I am by no means huge, I’m a size 14 but I’m a short 5ft 3 so the weight shows.  I have never been a teeny weeny size and  that’s not actually what I am aiming for.  If I was a 10 /12 I would feel better and look better.  That is my goal.  It’s not so much to do with what I weigh, but what dress size I am and how I feel.

Therefore after speaking to Sandra at Cybher I have been invitied to join the thinking slimmer shape up for summer campaign.  Thinking slimmer is different, it’s not a diet it is a series of voice recordings that you listen to. It taps in to unconscious persuasion and changes how you feel about food.  I have been listening now for a week and I am amazed. My appetite has shrunk and I am noticing changes about my eating.  Normally I don’t really focus on eating, I grab and run.  I eat whilst I’m on the laptop, or feeding the children or helping with homework.  This past week I have been more aware of what I eat.  I have been listening for when I am full up.  I have eaten so much less than usual and no chocolate what so ever.  I have been wanting salad all the time.

I am already feeling slimmer.  I have noticed a real difference and can’t wait to see what happens next week.
