Ten Years Married!
Ten years married next week, a whole decade. My wedding day seems a lifetime ago and yet I can remember so many of the details as though it were last week. It was boiling hot day and Lee burnt his head which is evident in the pictures! I still love my wedding dress and it is still hanging in its protective bag in storage, I chose something which I believed to be different from what anyone expected. Lee knew it was partly navy as that obviously became the colour scheme. On honeymoon (or should I say our family holiday with Chloe aged 2 at the time) Lee admitted that he was worried I wouldn’t look traditional and he wouldn’t like it!! However he wasn’t disappointed!
To me ten years is a real achievement and I looked in anticipation for a suitable, traditional gift to celebrate. We don’t tend to celebrate much, some years we go for a meal or I might get flowers but we don’t go all out for it. However even I am a little disappointed that the traditional gift is tin. TIN I ask you, what can I get that I would appreciate that is made of tin!
Therefore I have had to think outside the box! Thankfully Radley have come to the rescue with their fab range of products. Although not made of tin – I rather like the watches that are made of metal – see the link!! The keyrings are also seriously cute and would look lovely hanging from one of the bags!
I mentioned in my previous post I am feeling patriotic this week and so I would love this Great British Summer keyring.
My wedding was also very patriotic as it was the first England game for the 2002 World Cup the following day. Therefore the tables were all named after the national teams, obviously top table was England and the grandparents were all on Germany which made them laugh! We all watched the match together on the Sunday (it was an early morning game) as our venue put up a big screen for the boys – whilst I sat and drank Bucks Fizz outside all before heading off to Spain!
Such fab memories, I’ll save the story about the best man gatecrashing the bridal suite thinking it was his room! As for what I am going to buy Lee – goodness only knows – maybe I can get away with buying him a tin of beer or something! Or a BBQ as we don’t own one and it really is BBQ weather!
