The last hurrah of sunshine.
It’s Thursday, my favourite morning of the week. I have absolute peace and quiet. The husband is at work, the older children at school and even Erin goes to nursery now on a Thursday morning in order for me to get on with school lesson preparation and marking in peace. Or at least that was the plan!
This is the third week of this plan, week one went well, week two I did housework instead of marking which was not a good decision seeing as Sunday left me marking until late at night.
Week three and again I have been distracted. Erin had the doctors this morning and didn’t get to nursery until 10. One cup of coffee and quick facebook check means it is now almost11 and seeing as I collect her at 1 it’s a bit late to start now isn’t it??? Plus the sun is shining and drawing me out into the garden.
Faced with this beautiful morning and knowing it is one of the few remaining days before winter takes full control I am heading outside instead.
We have reseeded a large section of the garden this year and it has taken really well. Next spring will shall do the rest, however before we attempt that we shall need to clear the overrun areas with some weed killer. I would love to have a really pretty garden but with three children that use the garden as a tennis court, football pitch and mini Olympics track that may be some years off. However it seems that Erin would like to help get the garden looking pretty. Although she still needs training not to pick my flowers which is one of her favourite pastimes!
We have the most beautiful protected trees surrounding our house but they drop sooooooo many bits into the garden that it takes a bit of effort to keep on top of them. Therefore I am heading out with my rake to enjoy what may be the last of our sunshine especially if snow is to come next month which has been suggested!
