Why I don’t take the husband out…..

Written by Emma. Posted in Uncategorized

We woke leisurely this morning with an empty day stretching in front of us.  By mid morning we were dressed and wondering how to spend the day, the weather (typically) wasn’t great and certainly not picnic and park weather.  The children asked to go to soft play.  We have already done swimming and pizza hut this week, both without dad I hasten to add.

We agreed and I starting getting sorted to go, making sure the children were wearing suitable clothes for flinging themselves down death slides and such like.  It is still a real novelty to take Erin to soft play knowing that she can now join in.

We arrived, piled out of the car and got to the till, one 12 yr old, 8 yr old and 2yr old.

The till operator replied ‘and two adults’?

‘Yes please’

£17 she replied

I turned at the sharp intake of breath from the husband.  As he grabbed the receipt from my hands to work out just where the error occurred.  He was incandescent when he saw we were charged £1 for each adult.  Once we had gotton a table and I hooked up to the free wifi he was grunting with annoyance after going to get a cup of tea and hot chocolate.  This cost him a further £5.00  he then started asking what time we were leaving!  Apparently soft play is too noisy.

The children were having a great time and the husband popped down to check on them.  Chloe had found some boys from school and the husband even managed to embarrass her by asking her where her boyfriends had gone, only for one to be stood behind him.  Cue laughter from the boy, and Chloe declaring that she didn’t know who this man was and walking off in the opposite direction!

Haha yes, I totally relate to this! I usually do soft play with a friend because the husband hates it! I have to say that there is only one soft play centre near us that charges for adults, seems a little unfair. Once you have all three over 12months the price does climb doesn’t it? That said, it must be so lovely for Erin to be able to join in at last :)
