This summer I am planning a number of trips in the UK. Holidays abroad have come up so expensive this year and I haven’t yet got around to booking anything. I am half keeping my eye on last minute deals but I am not worrying too much if it doesn’t happen. We are already planning our next Florida holiday and if that means I need to rein in my spending a little this year – then needs must! We are classed as 4 adults and 1 child when it comes to travel and it makes it expensive.
We are looking at over 5K for a 10 day break abroad and I am finding it hard to justify this year.
The UK still has many places I want to visit and this year we are planning on ticking a few off. For the last couple of years Erin has asked if we can camp. She has loved the day festivals we have been too and I think that she is now ready for camping. Therefore I was delighted to be asked to be an official Camp Bestival blogger.
We will be packing up the car and setting up camp. We are going to take Erin’s best friend and mum too, girlie road trip here we come. Holly and me putting up a tent is going to be fun because I am not sure what help our little travelling companions will be!
Before we set off we will make sure the car is fit for travel which includes TyrePlus tyres to suit our journey. I also do the basic maintenance checks. I always make sure I have a full tank of petrol because I worry about traffic jams in the summer and being stuck! It is only in recent years that I have been doing long journeys as a driver. I don’t mind it so long as I feel prepared. I always take food and drink too for snacking on the way. I don’t tend to stop once I am going I prefer just to drive and get to the end destination.
Camp Bestival is the first week of the school holidays and after that, I am planning a few days in Devon. We love Lyme, Sidmouth etc and will be looking for somewhere to stay where we can also take the dog. It will be a new thing for us, taking a dog away and I am not sure what to expect.
I have also booked a weekend at Center Parcs for the children and me. We are going with my parents and we all love it there. It is a chance to try new activities including water sports which we all love.
We will hopefully have a family week away in the UK too, but I haven’t thought of where. We usually travel south but I am thinking it would be good to travel north and see some of the Lake District. Afterall when Chloe moves to Plymouth we will be driving south fairly regularly.
What are your UK places to see? Do let me know in the comments.
