We are hanging onto the last few days of the school holidays. Lee headed back into the classroom on Monday, I think it is his 18th September as a teacher. What a lot of change he has seen in Education over that time and not all for the best! Erin headed into the juniors on Tuesday, she was a coiled up spring ready to explode! She was so very excited and eager. Although managed to lose her new cardigan on the first day!
Chloe and Dylan do not go back until Friday so are making the most of those last lie ins before the alarm starts ringing again.
I always find September an energising month. It is just as much as new year as January is to most. The children are refreshed and motivated. This academic year will see big changes for us a family. Chloe will start looking at Univerisity courses and applying very soon. I can’t believe that my millenium baby is going to be spreading her wings further next year and leaving home. Dylan will be choosing GCSE options this year and I am just hoping that he starts putting a little more effort in. So far he coasts and is happy just to get by!
I have also set myself some new goals both blog related and personal to have completed by the end of the year. Some will know I have started getting back to fitness with a personal trainer. We have also taken a puppy cavachon named Lilly into the family. You can read what a baptism of fire that has been in this 9 Unexpected things I learnt in the first week of having a puppy post. However I am hoping that she will lead me to getting outside more and walking further. But first I want her to sleep past 6am!
Blog related I have been doing some online courses and I have plans to put what I have learnt into practise. I would love to grow my Instagram channel to 10K by the end of the year but that will be a real challenge. I also have set myself some YouTube goals which includes me vlogging weekly. These will be a mix of days out and Day in the Life style vlogs and more to camera chatty types.
Have you set yourself and professional or personal goals? I like setting them between now and Jan as it is a few months which makes the goals SMART. I can actually focus on them and deliver (hopefully) on them. Last year I had a few life coach sessions with Becky at Clear and Inspired and they taught me so much and gave me greater ambition again.
So September – come on lets get going!
