How much pre school?

I am in the throes of thinking about returning to work.  Come September I will be back in the classroom three days a week.  Erin will be returning to grandads one day a week and spending two days in nursery which she loved pre spica.However as Erin is nearing three she will soon be eligible for the 15 funded hours of Early years nursery education and I am unsure how best to use them.  For my understanding most providers use the 15 hours over three days and not two.  Therefore I am thinking … [Read more...]

Read Write Phonics App Review

Since owning a smart phone I have gone slightly app crazy.  I have found some brilliant apps that the children love, their choice would be the latest craze of games like we draw and for the boy Fifa 12 however I have been really excitied to see a growing number of apps that are educational in addition to being fun.Read Write Phonics is available on google play for just £1.49 and is one of those apps. Developmental milestones for a toddler in hip spica #DDH

Watching your precious son / daughter growing up has to be one of the best privileges that there is.  I am enjoying my time with Erin so much at the moment and as she is my third (and final!) Being a role model..

As a teacher I am very aware of being a role model - it goes hand in hand with the job and is something I am very aware of.  Therefore I was really pleased when I saw some new research last week from Dove that showed that mums were girls biggest role models.  Now that my daughter has turned 12,  is at secondary school and in a much more competitive and bigger environment I am more aware than ever of the pressures that our daughters and girls are under.  My house is often over-brimming with pre … [Read more...]
