September is turning into quite a month, first up I chaired a brilliant panel session at Funfest where I was discussing how brands and bloggers can work together. When I initially started blogging I had no idea that it would lead to a complete change of career and that working with amazing brands was even a possibility. I have said many times that blogging has absolutely changed my life and given the family and I some amazing opportunities from holidays to being on TV.
Then this past weekend I was a finalist at the MAD blog awards – somehow both my blogs Emma and 3 and Mums savvy savings were finalists in their respective categories. I didn’t win but being there was enough of an achievement for me! It was an amazing event with lots of fun and laughter. I even managed to squeeze in afternoon tea and plenty of Bellini cocktails.
However I have also been sitting on a little secret the past couple of weeks. Many of us know the power of blogging and that being a digital influencer on social media is a very much in demand. One aspect that I am not very good at is promoting myself and not always recognising how to continue to embrace and develop my little bit of the internet. Well that could be about to change as I am now being represented by The blogger agency who are helping people like me connect with even more brands and campaigns. I am rather excited by all this and really feel proud to be associated with them. As part of their official launch just look at the #thebloggeragencytakeover on twitter and instagram. It is really exciting and I have been sent an amazing goody bag of treats from some of the first brands to work with The blogger agency. Having a teen daughter always means that she dives into goody bags and she has already taken her a look and decided what we are sharing. Lucky for her she fits the clothes sent and modelled them along with the sunnies!
The rest of the goodies can be seen here and I thank all the companies for their welcome gifts.
I am really feeling optimistic and looking forward to a few great things that I am working on. At first I felt a bit uncomfortable with the whole idea of being represented like I thought I was some kind of super blogger or a bit up myself which I am certainly not, but after chatting it through I think this is a great opportunity to have someone else helping me make the most of my blog and looking after my interests too. I still have the freedom to do everything I already am and nothing changes on the blog but it is nice to feel someone else is also championing me from the sidelines.
