Fathers Day is almost here and with it mums up and down the country and wondering what awesome gifts they can give from the children – or to their own dads of course. Both my own dad and my husband are amazing dads, they continually make lives easier and for that, I want to show my appreciation. I want to give a gift that shows I have not done a last minute dash to the shops, instead I want to give a present that shows how much they mean to me.
If I just recap over the past few months I can recall so many times these men have pulled out the stops and made life better by fixing things and providing for us. I want to find gifts that really mean something and that will last the year long.
Last month alone my husband was woken by a sound of water. Dashing downstairs at 5am he discovered a burst pipe. Water was gushing everywhere and he then spent the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend drying out our kitchen cupboards and kickboards.
My dad is idolised by the children, he plays and entertains them all the time. The look of love with Erin here illustrates the point. He is so calm, compassionate and gentle that she wanted to do archery with him on our recent little holiday.
Lee spends a day a weekend standing on the football pitch sidelines supporting Dylan and his team. He also washes Chloe’s car most weeks for her and has set the standards high in what she should look for in a future partner. He also is pretty good at getting gifts himself, he recently took Dylan to the play offs at Wembley. For me, he surprises me with afternoon tea and weekends away.
Therefore I want to upgrade his gift by giving something he really wants. He doesn’t want more clutter. Instead, he wants thoughtful gifts. Gifts that put him first and will be opened with a smile.
Both of my menfolk shave and therefore the Braun Series 3 Shave and Style is a gift that will keep on giving. It captures more hair in the first stroke, meaning Dad can shave with greater efficiency and skin comfort than ever before. This saves him time and allows him to be ready for the day ahead quickly. Lee likes a touch of the designer stubble look and the Braun Series 3 allows for this with its interchangeable blades.
Other gifts that float my boat include this Personalised Father’s Day Gift Engraved Wooden Keyring. I would have it engraved with the three children and it is a keepsake at a great price. Next up would be a doing something together as a family. We are all busy these days and doing something as a five is a rare pleasure so I am looking at a day out somewhere that will entertain us all. It could be a theme park or a challenge like Go Ape which would be fun. You can buy experiences like this from Buy A Gift.
Fathers Day matters, it is the opportunity to say thank you. Thank you for those times that they put themselves out and to show just how much you love them. Put a smile on his face with a thoughtful gift.
