The Summertime Ball 2016 at Wembley is a huge event with some of the best musical talent around, therefore when we were invited by Vodafone to come down to London and enjoy the show, Chloe and her best friend were beyond excited. We decided to make a girlie weekend of it and Erin came along too. Her first concert and one of the best shows of the summer – my goodness my kids are super lucky! We drove to Ealing and stayed in a local Premier Inn as I know that area well and don’t mind driving there, although there was one massive roundabout to contend with before we were safely parked up! Driving in London is just mental!
Vodafone were the headline sponsor of the Summertime Ball for the fifth year running and they had pulled out all the stops with pre show entertainment. There was an emoji orchard, the ultimate on stage selfie (which my little diva’s loved) and even a chance to win ticket upgrades. I wish we’d had more time pre show to try everything – maybe next year if they invite us back (hint hint and lots of begging faces from Chloe and Aaliyah). Once in our seats we were amazed at the vast space and crowd gathered as we had never been to Wembly before. To top it off we were say just behind Lucy and Lydia of YouTube fame and the girls had a picture with them.
The show opened with Little Mix and then came Erin’s favourite Lucas Grahame, after that it was full on party mode, my favourite was Jess Glynne who was amazing. The older girls thought Ariana Grange was superb and they went crazy went Dizzee Rascal made a surprise appearance. They danced all night long and screamed until the voices refused to anymore. The whole event was just awesome and after sitting so many exams last week it was great for the girls to relax and have fun. We put together some of the best bits.
We danced our way out of the stadium and back to our room where the girls finished off with a pot noodle for dinner! So rock and roll! We’d like to thank Vodafone again for a magical night and giving us some amazing memories to add to our collection!
