Checking your regular bills is one of my top money saving tips. I have written many times about checking your energy bills and regularly switching providers in order to receive the best deals. This is one of the biggest ways to save significant amounts of cash each year. In addition to energy bills we should also be checking and rechecking broadband deals.
Did you know that on average customers can save up to £240 on their broadband when they switch provider? However many families believe that finding a new deal and then switching over will be time-consuming and could result in interrupted service. This is something most of us want to avoid. We rely on broadband and it is pretty non-negotiable for a modern family, we have two teenagers and honestly, I think they would move out if we had no internet access!
We rely on broadband but it shouldn’t mean that we are scared to switch providers and get a better deal. There is no reward for loyalty and new customers always seen to get a better deal. Therefore if you are looking to save money, changing broadband providers should be a top priority as there are savings to be made. £240 could really make a difference and I have been considering what a difference it would make in your pocket instead of a rolling contract. It would take care of a couple of days out in the summer, think a theme park or weekend away somewhere. It could pay off a little bit of debt or it could allow you to buy something from your wish list. Whatever you choose to spend the money on, it would certainly have an impact.
Finding the best deal has been made easy by using the comparison site. They have done the leg work and compare the specifications and the cost of broadband saving you time. The user-friendly website provides you with the option to add your postcode which then brings up the local deals for your area. You can then compare the features and see the costs. This has simplified the switching process allowing us to save money without spending our valuable time searching for deals or trawling the high street.
When I looked at my postcode area I could see 53 different deals from the providers. Each was presented in the same format allowing me to compare average broadband speeds, contract length and cost. Once I had selected an offer it was simply a case of clicking through directly and then continuing with the sign up process. Simples
Saving money and yet still getting the same service! Regularly reviewing your monthly bills is the easiest way to save money. There is no going without, no cutting back on something and no going without. One tip is to pop in your diary at the start of the year all the renewal dates for your utilities and insurances. Then as soon as contracts finish you are ready to find the next best deal, this ensures that you are getting the best value for money.
Can you think of an easier way to save money than staying one step ahead of your regular monthly costs?
