The start of spring is the key time of year where many of us turn our attentions to the home in an effort to have a revamp for the upcoming months.
But unlike certain areas of the house which require a little more in the realm of DIY expertise, our bedrooms can afford us the chance to indulge in our wildest and most whimsical interior design schemes.
This is because our bedrooms are our private spaces, and if you’re anything like me, there’s nothing better than transforming our own little sanctuaries into a chic palace of dreams thanks to some great online sales and blog advice.

One of my favourite activities on the internet is to trawl through some great interiors blogs for a little design inspiration. I love the sfgirlbybay blog for the way that it shows that even the smallest bedroom can be given a chic facelift through the introduction of some nice, clean white bedding and some fun bursts of colour.
And even Gloucestershire’s own Will Taylor has a blog called Bright.Bazaar that reveals some unusual colour ideas such as orange and black that illustrate the great fun that can be had in designing your own colour scheme for your bedroom.
Online bargains
The great thing about giving your home a makeover in January and February is that this is the time of year when most retailers try and stimulate our design thoughts with some tempting online sales.
The ultra-chic Rove Concepts have some very classy floor lamps that can stylishly illuminate even the most dingy of bedrooms. And whilst they might not be too cheap, the handy introduction of coupon codes on the website stops them from being too prohibitive.
Similarly, homegrown bed retailers Bedstar have given us all the opportunity to get the bed or mattress of our dreams courtesy of their online sale. We should all apparently change our mattress every eight years, so offers like these could provide us with the perfect excuse for sleeping in style for the remainder of 2016.
Getting creative
Above all, a bedroom makeover should be all about having fun with your design ideas. Whilst we might want to show off a little more in our living rooms and kitchens, I think that our bedrooms give us the chance to get a touch more personal. And with the likes of Homemaker giving us the opportunity to get crafty with some great upcycling ideas, you won’t have to break the bank either.
So with the help of some well-placed online sales, and some fun ideas from the blogosphere, achieving a cheap and stylish bedroom makeover just got a whole lot easier!
