Another half term holiday has been and gone and I am on the count down to the summer holidays with the children now. It seems strange to have Chloe at home and not at school, she has another handful of GCSE’s to go and then she has a long summer to look forward to. This May Half Term saw us as a family doing different things and having different experiences. Dylan and I went on a short break to Molietes in France which was wonderful and it yet again proved to me that there are so many benefits for holidaying separately.
We had an early morning flight from Gatwick which is a two hour drive from home and I didn’t fancy driving at that hour. Therefore when Holiday Extras asked if there was any way they could make our trip easier, take away the hassle and let us enjoy every minute of our trip I jumped at the chance! Holiday Extras offer to take care of all the things that you need to organise and arrange when you travel.
Dylan and I travelled to Gatwick on the Monday afternoon ahead of our Tuesday flight. We were booked into the Marriot Hotel at Gatwick Airport where we had a twin room. The drive down in the late afternoon was easy and stress free. I felt under no pressure and knew I had time to stop and break if I needed. When we arrived we parked up out the front of the hotel and checked in. Then we went to the next desk where we checked my car in and handed over the key. They then moved the car to a secure holding and I didn’t have to think about it again. The car was then returned to car park in the hours before we landed and the whole process was seamless and easy.
Our room was perfect and we each had a double bed and we spent the evening having a drink and snacks before heading up for an early night. We slept well and were refreshed before our flight. It meant that when we arrived in France we were able to enjoy the first day without being tired. Getting to the South terminal was a short 7 minute walk away. There are bus transfers available at £3 or you could take a taxi to the terminal for about £10 but Dylan and I decided a short early morning walk would be ideal and it was. We only had one suitcase and our hand luggage so the stroll was good to get some fresh air before getting the flight.
On returning we did the same short walk back, collected the car key and headed home. Holiday Extras also can book lounges prior to departure in addition to the parking and hotel options. The service is available at all airports and not just Gatwick. We totally recommend Holiday Extras who made everything hassle free and easy for us. The service costs approx £120 for one nights hotel and 8 days parking which is a great price for the peace of mind it provides.
Sharing is caring!

Wow £120 to start your holiday early was totally worth it!
Absolutely
Glad to hear you had a hassle free overnight stay before your trip to France Emma:) We also recently booked via Holiday Extras and stayed overnight at the Holiday Inn Express near Gatwick Airport. We were also very impressed with the service they offered and will use them again.
It makes life so much easier doesn’t it?
