Long Hair at 40 and Other Beauty Trends From Bloggers Age 35+

As I grew up I thought you had to have short hair when you were older.  I also thought older people didn’t wear jeans and they certainly didn’t dress in TopShop.  I also thought old was about 40. Yet I am sporting long hair at 40 and sharing other beauty trends from bloggers aged 35+

How things have changed!

In society we are definitely ageing better.  We are getting married later in life and also having children later.  This has impacted on how we view age and what we feel about numbers.  At 40 my hair is the longest it has been since we married 15 years ago.  I also look after my skin more.  My regular sports massage is another way that I look after myself. It hat helps with both my physical and mental well being.

Looking around the world there are some pretty unusual beauty trends that women follow. Last year it was all about contouring and whilst I think it looks good it is not a trend that I could follow.  I just don’t own that many foundation colours, blushers and make up brushes!

I wanted to see just what my fellow bloggers, of a similar age, are embracing in their quest to look and feel totally fabulous.

Bloggers share their beauty trends

  • Eyebrow threading. It makes my eyes water like hell, but I go to a little pop up salon to get the caterpillars tamed – and it lasts for a month or more. If I’m feeling particularly brave I get the top lip done as well (to avoid looking like Tom Selleck!) said Donna from Mummy Central
  • I’ve been detoxing my make up bag and really thinking carefully about what I put on my skin.  I love Bare Minerals make up, Dr Hauschka and Weleda skin care. I’ve been impressed by how balanced my skin seems since I swapped. Great advice from  Penny at Parent shaped
  • I love having Shellac nails as they don’t chip and survive life as a working mum! A top tip from Kirsty at The Mummy Sphere
  • I have had permanent eyeliner done. I’m far too lazy to bother with makeup when I’m not at work but I have really fair lashes and brows so I look a bit naked when I don’t pencil/mascara them in. Cats Yellow Days
  • I’m going for Blorange hair again this but with more red in it.Also having a heavy fringe cut in next week to help frame myself said Aly from Bug Bird Bee

The eyebrow threading is certainly a trend that has grown with beauty bars popping up in department stores in the high street.  I remember at first people thinking brow bars in the middle of Debenhams would never catch on as people would not want them done in public.  However that has long been silenced. You often need an appointment in my local Benefit as it is so busy day in day out.

In order to help keep my hair and nails in the best condition, I make sure I eat plenty of fruit and veg.  However, at times I will supplement with Vitabiotics.  I am also looking for a way to cover the grey.  The last few months have really seen my hair change.  Whilst it is still in good condition there is decidedly more grey in a very short space of time. Some choose a fast option and like to experiment with different styles, therefore, human hair wigs can give women lots of choices to try different styles.

How are you ageing gracefully?

  1. há mais algum provedor tipo ADaciesidenLRSl , a custo mínimo, ou algum gratuito que funcione inclusive no RS?É o cúmulo termos que pagar por um login, já que quando dá algum problema temos que falar direto com a Brasil Telecom.

  2. Thanks for sharing your beauty tips. I think it’s important for women who are in there late 30’s (like I am) or early 40’s to take care of themselves and spoil themselves once in a while.
