Homes are getting smarter there is no mistaking it and whether it is your Alexa, your smart boilers or smart doorbells it seems that we want our homes to be modern, efficient and able to do more than our parents ever dreamed of. Like many, we started with Alexa and over the past few years, we have added more smart technology to our home.
We fitted a smart security camera a while back and it has been a revelation if we are honest. We had our garage broken into and the footage clearly showed the brake in and the police were certainly interested in the footage recorded which was very clear! The smart camera links to my husbands watch and he can see when deliveries are made and when their is movement around our front door. My friend popped over one early evening with a bottle of wine and he messaged us to say he had spotted the wine as she walked into our house!! Honestly I have no secrets in our smart home!!
A more pressing need though was a new boiler. One thing I wanted was a smart boiler that would not only be more efficient but would also be more environmentally friendly. Our home is now about 18 years old and this is the first boiler replacement we have ever done, we have spent the winter under blankets in the living room in the evening as our old system was not delivering anymore. Upstairs would be warmer than downstairs, I also wanted to be able to switch on the heating or the water as I was coming home. I don’t enjoy walking into a cold house and knowing that would become a thing of the past no matter what time I was getting home was a priority to me.
Viessmann can meet those needs. They have smart boilers that are compact, energy efficient and economical with a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability, they are suitable to meet the requirements and demands of every home, no matter how large or small.
The following infographic demonstrates just how much CO2 is used for a range of behaviours. Many of us are keen to reduce our carbon footprint and are taking measures to lessen our damaging impact on the environment. A much greater understanding is being taught in schools. My own 9 year old is far more socially responsible and aware than I was at her age. Just take a look at the below and consider what you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.
This clearly visualises that we can all make positive changes and I am glad that our decision to change to a smart boiler is high up there on the list. Our smart boiler not only delivers on saving us money by being more efficient it also saves the environment. I am also pledging this year to reduce our plastic use at home. What can you do?
