As we come into the summer season many of us will be off travelling on holiday or short breaks. Over the years I have got pretty good at packing the essential travel items that I need for a week in the sun. As a mum, packing often falls to me. My husband has a knack of just throwing his things in a bag and then asking if we are good to go! Whereas I pack for Erin and me plus making sure the teenagers have everything they need for a holiday.
This summer we are heading to Sardinia with Mark Warner and I simply cannot wait. We last went on a Mark Warner holiday a few years ago when I took Erin and Dylan to San Lucianu Resort in Corsica with some other bloggers. This summer I am taking us all to Sardinia and we are looking forward to all the water sports on offer. I am really hoping that the teens enjoy the activties on offer.
Essential travel items that I will not be leaving home without!
We all like to travel in comfort and therefore a good pair of Love Leggings are both practical and desirable. I will wear their everyday black leggings with a slouchy top to ensure that I am comfortable on the flight and two hour transfer. If you follow me on social media then you will be aware that I am into working out at Iron Zuu. I will also be active on holiday as that is one of Mark Warners unique selling points. The activities are included and this includes tennis, water sports and more. Therefore my mulberry leggings are one of the first things in my case along with my trainers so that I can get involved in all the fun!
Moving on to clothing I have got much better and packing light, for years I took way more than I needed. Now I have it nailed! Shoe wise I have sliders, trainer, wedges and flat sandals. This summer I am also loving jumpsuits and have bought a couple including one from River Island which I love! I have bought a black bikini from H&M as it will go with everything and a few new t-shirts. I also like a beach cover up for walking up to the bar! My plan is to be mostly in beach wear and then a dress or jumpsuit for dinner in the evening.
Essential Travel Items: Toiletries
On the essential travel items toiletries front, I get annoyed with bottles and liquids as they leak and often take up lots of space in my case. Therefore I look for products that will save space and also products that are more environmentally friendly. I usually get a no aerosol deodorant but this year I have up my game. I am using the Shine shampoo bar which is great as there is no waste and it is easy for travelling. The Shine bar has really impressed me as it does lather up and leave my hair feeling super clean.
The next essential travel item is the Konjac Sponge Co Travel Kit which is a Korean secret! The Konjac Sponge Company’s Deluxe Travel Pack is an essential when on the move. This kit is airport-friendly and contains both a 6 Wave Body Sponge and a Facial Sponge, ensuring you are fully prepped away from home. This kit contains a Facial Puff and a 6 Wave Body Sponge as well as a mesh drying bag to hang your sponges in after use. Stow them away inside the soft travel bag when on the move. The sponges arrive in dry form, so just soak in water to refresh them before using. When you reach your destination, don’t forget to hang damp sponges out to dry. I’ve been using this as part of my beauty routine and my skin is in tip-top condition and prepped for our travels!
Staying with the bathroom essentials I have also got the Colgate ProClinical 250+ Electric Toothbrush. With its new slimmer, lightweight design, this powerful toothbrush delivers up to 30,000 strokes per minute and includes a two-minute timer and 30 second pacer to make sure you achieve a dentist-worthy clean. Available to purchase for £49.99 at Superdrug. We like that this toothbrush comes complete with a protector that stops it getting tatty in your washbag.
Essential Travel Items: Accessories
When on holiday we all love to take the odd selfie or five but I always juggle holding the phone and worry I will drop it. This has been made so much easier by Speck who have launched 8 brand new GrabTab design collections, giving smartphone users the chance to express their personality through a wide variety of unique prints. GrabTab is a multi-functional smartphone accessory designed to offer a secure hold on devices of any size without impeding any functions of the phone. I have been using one from the fine art collection and I feel so much more secure when holding the phone up to get a quick selfie.
I also bought myself a lovely travel jewelry case from Stackers which keeps all my rings, bracelets and necklaces tangle free and together. I don’t wear jewelry in the day but I do like to put it on for the evenings. I will be taking my Jana Reinhardt jewellery, a handmade jewellery company, where every item is handcrafted by a small team of award-winning goldsmiths. The silver hummingbird is a really dainty piece that looks lovely with tanned skin and livens up pretty much any outfit. The necklace was gifted to me from www.janareinhardt.com and I cannot wait to show it off on holiday!
I am also a convert to prescription sunglasses. I got some wondering whether I would actually use them but now I rave about them. They allow me to wear sunglasses at the poolside but then take them off to get in the pool with the kids and splash about. In previous years I would be wearing my contact lenses and then I couldn’t open my eyes underwater or whatever. I was always fretting about losing them. This way I can be in and out of the pool as much as I want.
This is the comprehensive essential travel items that I don’t leave home without now. These pieces make my life that little bit easier or prettier when travelling with the family. Do let me know what else is packed in your luggage!
Sharing is caring!
