Body Language: Ways Your Body Tells You It’s Time For a Thorough Detox

Our bodies are magnificent, yet complex structures, especially in how it communicates with us. And while the phenomenon of how our bodies communicate with us is fascinating, the self-destructive aspect to that is how we don’t listen to our bodies when it talks to us.

For instance, if you’ve ever cut yourself before, you probably poured alcohol or peroxide on it and covered it with a bandaid… That’s that on that, right? But in doing that, was there ever a time where you did that but the cut never healed and ended up getting infected to where you needed to go and get stitches? Hopefully, that’s never happened to you but it has happened to many people.

The thing about an infected cut is that when it’s too deep, the cut will keep bleeding, no matter how much pressure you put on it… That’s a sign that the cut is much deeper than you originally thought and should have sought medical treatment immediately when it happened.

That’s an example of how we don’t listen to our bodies. We do the same thing when our body tries to tell us that we need to detoxify it… But do we listen? In most cases, no, but we need to start because when our bodies tell us we need to detox, it could be a sign of a more serious health issue.

Whether you choose to cut out sodas and fried foods or do a full-body green juice cleanse, you have to act quickly to rid your body of the toxins that are causing you so much pain and discomfort.

Ways Your Body Tells You It’s Time to Detox

You Have Trouble Falling Asleep

It doesn’t matter what you do to improve your sleep, if your body is in need of a detox, you will continue to have trouble falling asleep until you finally do detox your body. When your body is full of toxins, it can disrupt your circadian rhythm, thus, making it harder to fall asleep. It can be even harder to fall back to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night, for instance, to go to the restroom.

You Crave Bad Foods More Often

You’ve heard that food is worse than drugs, right? Well, that’s because it is. According to CNN, a bad diet is worse than drugs, alcohol, and tobacco combined. When your body is out of wack and you start having cravings for food, those cravings aren’t just bouts of hunger… It’s much more intense than hunger, and the toxins in your body only intensify it. When you start to notice that you’re having increased cravings for bad food and eating more than usual, you want to go on a detox before it worsens and you’re facing obesity and diabetes.

You’re Always Tired

As you can imagine, the bad foods we eat don’t exactly have good nutritional value, and because of that, consuming those foods can make you feel tired and lethargic. By detoxing your body, you’re putting those energy-boosting nutrients and vitamins back in your body to give it the boost it needs.

And don’t even think of coffee when you’re going through this because it will not help you in any way. Coffee and energy drinks are nothing but temporary fixes that come with crashes, leaving you more drained. With a detox, the nutrients from the vegetables and fruits you’re consuming are more of a long-term fix because they’re easier and more natural for your body to absorb, leaving you feeling energized with no afternoon crashes.
