Since my exciting change of workplace and direction post I have been dreaming about our upcoming trip to Florida. I have ticked off applying for visa’s and booking our taxi but keep thinking of more details I need to add to the list! One of the concerns I have is entertaining Erin on the flight. She is a chilled out little thing but it is still a long journey with a pre-schooler, which is why I have been considering ways to prepare for summer travelling.
One of the things on my list was making up a bag of games and activities to entertain her. I think variety will be the key to keeping her busy. Therefore when Stuck on you contacted me regarding their personalised range I was interested to see if anything was suitable to start us off. I thought there was some really fab items and considering reviewing a lunchbox – but with the introduction of free hot dinners for all reception and yr1 pupils next year I decided we wouldn’t make full use of it yet. However I then spotted the brilliant ‘Budding artists set’ that comprises of a personalised sketchpad and colouring set. This is ideal and as everything is labelled it makes it really easy to to keep together. I thought I could encourage Erin to draw pictures of things we see and also of the things she expects to see in Disney. This follows on from my lovely friend Becky at baby budgeting who gave me the idea of encouraging children to keep a journal of the things they do during school holidays.
Stuck on you was the brainchild of a mum in 1995 when her son required labelled goods for nursery and today the business has grown to include many items. In addition to the fab artists set, I choose a beach towel. Again personalised it is absolutely fantastic quality and much bigger than I expected. In fact the teen wishes I had ordered it for her! I think she will be pretending that she is called Erin around the pool and lounging on Erin’s pink spotty towel.
Loom bands seem to be the best thing to keep Dyl entertained at the moment and I was thinking I wonder how many different bracelets he could make on the flight! The older two will have their ipods and films to watch so I am not too worried about them getting bored.
