Let me share a typical day. Wake at 7.15 with the dog jumping all over me. I wake the kids and get dressed. Next I am putting the dog into the garden whilst simultaneously making myself my first coffee. The husband has long gone to work.
Once Erin is down I make her breakfast, packed lunch and make sure she has all she needs for school. I have it quite easy really – she doesn’t fuss too much and does her hair etc herself.
I walk Erin to school, bringing the dog with us and the older two head off in Chloe’s car. Once I am back it is time for my second coffee and then I start work. I juggle the household tasks, life admin and work stopping as required for lunch. At 2.50 I am usually rushing out the door for school pick up before walking the dog and starting dinner.
That is probably a pretty standard day for most parents. Juggling work, with childcare and the home.
So what would I really like for Mother’s Day?
I would like a cup of coffee made for me. I’d like dinner cooked for me. I am not too bothered by expensive gifts, although they would be nice! But in reality, all I want is to feel appreciated. I don’t need my teenagers to spend their money on me, afterall I gave them the money in the first place and they will only ask me for more!
A thoughtful card and some consideration goes a long way in my mind. What is written in the card also matters to me and just getting a thank you from the kid’s puts a smile on my face. Hallmark have a lovely range of cards that will suit all tastes and budgets. Whether you are looking for a traditional card, a humorous card or even a 3D card they have them all. I was recently sent a selection of the range to see what is on offer and they are lovely.
So to sum up what matters tome is a kind word, a show of appreciation and hopefully a cuddle. Do have a look at their other cards as they have it all covered, even cards from the cat!
Sharing is caring!
