Leave food for Santa
Santa and his assistant Rudolph do a lot of work during this season delivering all those gifts to lucky kids across the globe. It is only fair that when they come to your house, you have some cookies and probably warm milk ready to help replenish their souls before they move on to put a smile on another kid’s face.
Baking and food traditions
There is a lot of food, dancing, and celebrations during this period. This would be a perfect time to let your kid help you prepare the Christmas meal. Making Christmas dinner preparation a tradition would be a great bonding moment for the whole family.
Create home-made Christmas themed cards
You can engage your kids in making some DIY Christmas and season greeting cards. DIY cards have a more personal touch compared to electronic devices and modes such as text messages. Your kids can put their own sweet messages on these cards depending on who they are sending the messages to. I made a rag wreath for under £5 last year.
Have a Christmas bedding-theme
You can consider having Christmas themed bedding and pajamas for the whole family. You can have pillows and sheets for every bed in the house, all Christmas themed. This will be something your smaller kids will be really excited about.

Every year we bring together every member of our family, dress up in our ugly Christmas sweaters and hold a family photoshoot. These family photoshoots are a great way to preserve family history. When your kids grow up, they will appreciate these memories you made with them.
Make choosing a Christmas tree an event
Christmas is not complete without decorations and a good Christmas tree. When you go to get a Christmas tree, let your kids tag along. Let them help you choose the best possible tree and the best Christmas decorations accompanying the tree.
Have the kids donate toys
This is the time to have your kids go through the toys they have and collect together what they no longer use. Have them donate to them these toys as they will bring joy to other kids. They can give these toys to Santa.
Make a snowman
If you live in a neighborhood where you experience a good amount of snow, you can have some fun in the outdoors building a snowman. This will be a challenging task but very rewarding once complete.
Buy gifts for each other
Christmas holiday is a holiday for giving. Exchanging gifts is part of this tradition. You can make it more interesting by letting the kids buy these gifts themselves. They can afford them by saving part of the pocket money you give to them throughout the year.
Help a needy person in society
Helping out other people is also one of the highlights of the Christmas holiday. You can take your kids out to volunteer at a nursing home and help the needy people in your society as well. It will help these kids to become better human beings.
