Travelling with your baby can be daunting, especially if it’s your first time. We are here to help and have gathered some of the top ten essentials you should have when travelling with your baby.
1 Car Seat
When traveling by car, you will already know that you need a car seat. There are a variety of Baby car seats on the market. Choose one that is easy to maneuver in and out of the car. Car seats are also handy when travelling on planes and trains.
2 Pram
Find a pram that is light and can withstand all terrain types. Even better would be buying a car seat and pram combo that can easily fold away, making it easier to store or carry.
3 Blanket
Babys love to sleep, so make sure you have a blanket spare on you at all times. You can also invest in some baby pajama sacks, making a great alternative to a blanket and allowing children to sleep wherever they are.
4 Changing mag
You don’t want to get caught short of nappies or where to change when travelling with a baby. In your changing bag, ensure there are plenty of nappies, wipes and creams to change your baby. Also, having a rolled-up changing mat attached can be a lifesaver in times where there are no changing facilities around.
5 Sanitizer wipes
Having some hand sanitizer wipes on you at all times is a must. They are so handy when you need to clean tables, changing mats and airline trays, etc.
6 Food
If you are not breastfeeding or are in the transition of moving onto solids, making sure you have some backup meals and snacks to hand for when there are no shops around. Don’t forget to pack some silicone bibs, they can be rinsed and cleaned easier than fabric ones when you are out and about.
7 Travel cot
If you have space in your car, then consider packing a travel cot. Although most places are good a providing these, it is always nice to know you have a backup one you can take if where you are going doesn’t supply one. They can also double up as a playpen when you are outside.
8 First aid kit
We always want to keep our babies and ourselves safe and healthy, so be sure to have a trusty first aid kit on you for the just in case scenarios. Supplies like Calpol, plasters, sunscreen and paracetamol are all good to have in your kit.
9 Toys
Keeping your children entertained on long journeys can be hard. Pack a few engaging toys you can rotate to keep them entertained.
10 Camera
Don’t forget to pack your camera so you can take lots of pictures of your beautiful babies and family.
