Do you often find yourself filled with doubts? Are you scared of taking risks, and prefer sticking to your comfort zone? Do you have a hard time trusting yourself and your abilities? You’re not alone. Millions around the world struggle to find confidence in themselves, and quite frankly, it tends to keep them from being successful.
So how exactly can you regain confidence in yourself and trust yourself a little more? Here’s how!
Talk to Yourself
This one may sound crazy, but it is actually not. Talking to yourself in a positive and empowering way can help you start believing in yourself and your abilities and can really make a difference. In fact, certain experts also believe that positive self-talk can help you remove your fears and deal with anxiety in a much better way!
Accept Your Strengths & Weaknesses
Once you accept your flaws and strengths, there’s very little that can daunt you. Make a list of things that you’re good at, and things you aren’t. Try to work on improving yourself, but in a positive way. Remind yourself that no one is perfect, and each one of us have our weaknesses- and that’s fine. Play by your strengths and exercise them more often- it’ll automatically help you restore your confidence.
Trust Yourself
The more you start to trust yourself, the more confident and powerful you’ll feel. If you are constantly second guessing yourself, you’re actually pushing yourself back from the path of success. Start by having a little more faith in yourself, and pushing yourself to do things you haven’t done before and taking little risks- it can make a huge difference.
Accept Success
Confidence and success are interrelated, and the more you expect success, the more you’ll find it. Instead of preparing for the worst, keep hoping for the best. Pessimism usually prepares you for everything that could go wrong, which can undermine your performance in more ways than one.
Ditch Self Doubt
When you lack confidence in yourself, you’ll always find yourself at the mercy of other people. Often, you might allow them to make decisions for you- even important ones, which takes you back to the complete circle of lowered self esteem. Identify the situations that you feel uncomfortable in, and those that make you doubt yourself. Reflect upon it and work towards removing that self doubt.
Practise Confidence
Just like everything else, practising confidence can help you get better with it. Every time you feel a negative, self limiting thought coming up in your health, replace it with an empowering thought instead. Focus on your posture and speech and try to improve both. Meet new people and do more of what makes you happy from within- it can all help you restore faith in yourself.
