Christmas is merely around the corner, which means that so are all of the parties and meals that you like to get glammed up for. If “lose some weight” is one of your New Year’s resolutions, and you want to wear your favourite tight fitting dress this Christmas, then why wait until the New Year? You can start right now. There are lots of things that you can start doing to shed some pounds right now, so there’s no excuse for putting it off. Here are a few great tips to help you along.
- Be More Active
Exercising is the obvious first step in losing weight. However, don’t be put off thinking that you need to spend hours in the gym, there are plenty of exercises that you can do at home, and lots of changes that you can make to your everyday life to burn a few extra calories. For example, instead of taking the elevator at work, take the stairs, or walk your dog for an extra ten minutes every day.
- Don’t Forget Breakfast
Most people skip breakfast every morning, thinking that missing out on these calories will help them to lose weight. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help at all; When you miss breakfast, you will go hungry in the morning, so you’re more likely to snack on something unhealthy.
- Eat Your Five A Day
There is so much that you can do to lose weight, most of which is much cheaper than the Cambridge diet. Eating your five a day is one of these things that you can do. Fruits and vegetables are incredibly low in calories and fat but will fill you up a lot more than chocolate and crisps, so are a much better snack and will be much more helpful for losing weight.
- Drink More Water
There are many benefits of drinking water and losing weight is a huge one. Water is incredibly important in metabolism, so, if you’re not drinking enough, you will find it difficult to lose weight. Water can also help to fill you up without putting any calories in your body, which is a much better option between meals than a snack.
- Don’t Keep Junk
The last thing that you are going to want to do when you’re trying to lose weight is ban junk food, as this will only make you crave it more. However, that doesn’t mean that you need to dangle the junk in front of your face. Avoid keeping junk food in your home, especially in large quantities, so you’ll be less tempted to snack on it.
- Plan Every Meal
If you don’t know what you’re eating day to day, it can be easy to pick the first processed, calorie-filled thing that you find in the freezer and pop it in the oven. Planning your healthy meals will avoid this, and will mean that you only have healthy foods and ingredients in your home.
Losing weight isn’t easy, but if you put the work in, you can find it to be incredibly rewarding.
