Betty Box is a period subscription service aimed at girls and teenagers who have started their periods. It delivers sanitary products and a few treats through the letterbox each month.
As a former teacher of teenagers and a mum to two teenagers plus an 8-year-old, there is not much I find difficult talking to teens about. Very few topics are off-limits to me and puberty is one aspect of parenting that makes some cringe but not me.

When I started my periods I would have liked to receive this each month. At a time when you feel a bit urghh this provides a pick me up to put a smile on your face. It also gives you the chance to try out premium brands that you might not have heard of before.
When Erin gets to the age that we are chatting about puberty I will certainly use Betty Box as a way of opening conversations. The boxes allow mum and daughter to chat around the subject of periods without embarrassment. Puberty and periods are natural and therefore an open dialogue should be encouraged.
