The Cosy Club Cheltenham has a prime position in the Brewery Quarter of Cheltenham. Its location overlooks Cheltenham Town high street which has many beautiful buildings. Inside the Cosy Club there is a bar area that serves drinks and light snacks and then the main restaurant which serves breakfasts to dinners. The Cosy Club Cheltenham bar area has floor length windows which makes it a great spot to sit and watch the world bustle beneath.
We were invited to come and try some of the new menu offerings for the family and also sample the cocktail menu! We started off having a drink in the bar area and we opted for a range of drinks. I decided to try the gin based cocktails and was not disappointed! I recommend the Strawberries and Cream, and if you like cocktails make sure you take advantage of the Teatime Tipple – Sunday-Thursday from 4pm-8pm – Any 2 cocktails for only £9.95. Lee and Chloe opted for mocktails which they enjoyed. The bar staff were very knowledgeable and helped Lee choose his drink.
After a leisurely drink, we headed to our table for dinner at the Cosy Club Cheltenham. There was a real mix of diners, clearly some on dates, a girls night out and families. All were welcomed and enjoying the food. After looking at the Cosy Club Menu we had a range of starters with the children enjoying the new tapas on the menu, chicken, pawns and halloumi was devoured whilst Lee and I opted for a sharing starter. We had the Blighty which consisted of a Cosy scotch egg, whole baked camembert, popcorn bacon and pickled onions with tomato chutney and sourdough toast. Not a bad start!!
Again we tried a range of mains and I went for the Courgette, Feta & Mint Risotto which was really light and just what I needed after the big starter! The mains had plenty of offerings for all of us. Erin ate off a special children’s menu and at 8 years old she found the meal plenty and filling. Dylan, my strapping 14 year old went wild for the rack of ribs. I thought he might share, but no he wolfed down the lot with fries!
The Cosy Club Cheltenham deserts are huge and although we all ordered them, it was only Dylan that finished his! I went for the salted caramel cheesecake, I expected a slice but had a whole cheesecake! It beat me but was delicious. Dylan had a Nutella and Vanilla Donut, Erin a chocolate sundae but Chloe opted for a milkshake instead of desert.
What we enjoyed about the Cosy Club is the laid-back atmosphere. There was no rush and before we knew it we had been there three hours. It wasn’t just dinner out, it was an evening out. As a family, we were able to chat and relax and enjoy each others company with no pressure. We chatted, we laughed and we ate plenty. Then we left with no washing up for mum to do. It really was a lovely family evening. Now that we have two teenagers and an 8 year we don’t often eat together. In the week we tend to eat separately as the children are hungry after school but Lee doesn’t come home to 7ish. Erin is heading to bed at this time. At the weekend we try to eat together at least once but often someone is missing from the dinner table due to sports commitments or because they are out socialising, Therefore I really appreciate eating out together as it gives us that time to reconnect. We can spend our time chatting and catching up.
Cheltenham has so much to offer nearby including indoor crazy golf and fab shopping. Therefore you can really make a day of it and then head to the Cosy Club Cheltenham for refreshing and filling up after shopping. Alternatively, I know my parents enjoy starting their weekend at the Cosy Club with a breakfast on Saturday morning, Eggs Benedict being their favourite. This I have yet to try but I don’t think it will be long until we are back!

Heard lots of good things about the new menu! Cosy Club Liverpool is one of my go to places because of how much choice there is on the gluten free menu! Definitely need to return for a meal from the updated menu!
