Summer is here and it brings the opportunity for days out in the sun with the girls. Whether it is a day at the races or a day of shopping and cocktails there are some summer essentials that will leave you feeling glam and ready for fun. I have recently found my summer vibe and updated my wardrobe but accessories can make or break an outfit. When I head out with the girls I always spend a few extra minutes getting ready. It is not often I put myself first so when I do I like to make an effort!
Lets talk bags! According to my husband I have far too many bags but I know I need different bags for different occasions. I have going to the pub bags and I have tote bags for when I am being mum and need to carry a whole host of snacks and mum bits.
I also have bags that make life easier and look good in the process. This season I am rating Radley backpacks which offer a stylish but practical way to look good this summer. The Sandler in tan is one of my favourites, this collection puts functionality and delicate craftsmanship at the forefront. The styles make this ideal for daily commutes to work or for when you want to glam up an outfit. The medium sized backpack is made from smooth leather and is finished with adjustable back straps and a flap over front keeping all your essentials safe when on the go.
This backpack looks great teamed with a long skirt, tie top and even trainers on your feet. In fact, I am loving the trainers with dresses look and my Stan Smith’s are hardly off my feet at the minute!
In my bag you will also find my sunglasses which I have with me all the time and a water bottle. I am trying really hard to be more sustainable and carry a water bottle with me that I can fill up as required. This is also saving me money which is another advantage of carrying a bottle. The backpack has plenty of space for this and I know many of us are trying to carry bottles or reusable coffee cups in a bid to reduce our carbon footprint.
After my recent wardrobe overhaul, I am making sure that I am putting in more effort with how I look as it makes me feel more confident and happier. Therefore you will see me wearing lipstick more, especially as I have found a few colours that I really like. A statement necklace can also transform an outfit and the detail is in these small additions. I had fallen out of the habit of wearing my jewellery but again I am adding those details to my outfits.
Therefore a day out with the girls will see me sporting my bag with my other summer essentials as it leaves me handfree and able to sip those cocktails!
