The Ultimate Guide To Vaping For Beginners

An interesting thing we’ve found is that the vaping world doesn’t make immediate sense, especially to someone who’s only starting things out. Whether you’re getting a weed pen, or you’ll be vaping wax, e-liquids, or even plant matter, some research is absolutely recommended. But, we’re going to save you a bit of time.

We did the research for you, and we’ve put together the ultimate guide to vaping for beginners. From the simplest things such as what is vape and whether it’s dangerous, to the maths required to do it properly, we’ll talk about everything.

First of all, what is vaping?

When you’re inhaling a substance that’s been superheated into a vapor (one that’s actually delicious and intoxicating), this is known as vaping. When you’re vaping weed, for example, you’re heating the substance so you vaporize the CBD, THC and other cannabinoids, but you don’t burn them. When you’re e-vaping, you vaporize flavored vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol, and there’s usually a bit of nicotine in there too. This process not only enhances the flavor but also avoids the harshness associated with combustion, making it a smoother experience overall. With THC-A disposable vapes, for instance, users can enjoy this convenience and control, often paired with a variety of strains and flavors to suit personal preferences.

The next question that springs to mind, almost immediately, is what is a vape. The vape is actually that “thing” that does the vaporizing. There are plenty of options on the market, from ones that are limited to specific materials, to ones that vape pretty much anything that can be vaped. For instance, some vapes are designed specifically for cannabis, while others can handle nicotine-based liquids. If you’re just starting out, you might find that exploring different types of vape juices, like the premium 6mg vape juices available at Velvet Cloud (or any other reputable shops), can help you understand what works best for you.

You will find egos, you will find mods, and you will find weed vapes. They’re all different, and they’re meant for different things.

Is vaping dangerous?

Well, it depends on what you compare it to. For example, if you do compare it to complete abstinence, it is slightly harmful. However, if you were to compare it to traditional tobacco products, you will find that it’s 95% less harmful. This is not really a surprise since cigarettes are pretty much loaded with carcinogens and very dangerous.

A potential issue here is the mention of exploding batteries. While this isn’t strictly related to vaping itself, but to the equipment used, it seems like you’ve got a new e-cig exploding every week. The issue is that you often see lithium-ion batteries being used, and they can be subject to what is known as thermal runaway. This happens when a battery is overheated, overcharged, or punctured, and it will build energy rapidly until it explodes.

When vaping, you have those batteries right next to a super hot heating coil. If constructed poorly (such as with unregulated mods), you are practically begging for a thermal runaway to happen. A lot of people aren’t mindful of what voltage they charge batteries at, which might cause the issue. If you do want to overcome this, and not have to worry about it at all, your best bet is to stick to quality pens, whether it’s a weed pen or a regular vaping pen.

What do you mean vaping requires math?

Don’t worry, you won’t need that equation your high school teacher said will come in handy at some point in your life. While at first, it might look like you need an electrical engineering background, you actually only need to know a couple of small things.

First, we have watts. A higher atomizer wattage will result in a hotter atomizer. Theoretically, with a higher temperature, you will get better vape clouds. However, push things too far, and the clouds will burn your lungs when you inhale.

This is why it’s important to keep your vaping temperatures in check. Zamnesia has a great guide that explains all the particulars when around temperature settings.

So, how do you adjust the wattage? There are two aspects to it, and they work together. One of them is the coil’s resistance measured in ohms. Lower ohms means that the coil will require less battery voltage to get to the desired watts level. This is where you have a bit of math. In order to get the wattage, you want to square the voltage and divide by the ohms of the device.

For many vape enthusiasts, the ideal watts number is somewhere between 4 and 9. However, this is something you should definitely adjust to your individual needs and preferences.

Is there anything else you need to know?

When it comes to vape, the key thing is that it’s all about customization. And while there’s a massive variety of things you can adjust, this also means that things can easily get overwhelming, especially if you’re starting out. Therefore, you’ll want to start things slow and simple.

Find a good starting point, and adjust things from there. Whether you’re CBD oils with dry herb vaporizer or any other product, you should not adjust too many things at once. Instead, keep them simple, and you’ll get to a good point that suits you just right before you know it!
