But finding a family-friendly boating destination can be a little tricky.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

One of the interesting facts about Dubrovnik is that the town walls have been considered to be amongst the best fort systems built in the Middle Ages.

There are lots of boating options in Dubrovik, from bareboat rentals to yacht charters, there is endless choice. And the beaches along the Dubrovnik coast are some of the best on the Mediterranean, and just great for families. They are safe for swimming and offer lots of amenities. 

Dubrovnik is also popular for its breath-taking seafront restaurants. There is unlimited choice for food (even for picky kids). Dubrovnik is a great adventure boating destination and fun for the whole family.

Ionian Islands, Greece

Here you will find several islands for your family to explore – from Kefalonia to Corfu. These islands are spread out off the western coastline of Central Greece and towards the south of Peloponnese.

Unless you have unlimited time, you’ll need to choose one or two islands to focus on. For kids we really like Corfu or Zakynthos. 

Sidari Waterpark is on Corfu’s northern coast and here you will experience a warm family atmosphere and amazing service. The Water Park Hotel is a quick five minutes from the beach and the main road which is great because it’s close to the center where all the shops are. 

Your family will also enjoy the Water Village in Zakynthos. From a lazy river cruise to a jungle adventure this is indeed a village of fun for the whole family.

With magnificent natural landscapes and rich multi-cultural heritage, these islands are a must to explore. A yacht charter in Greece is a great way to travel because their waters are non-tidal, and their weather is just excellent all year round.

Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia, Italy is a large island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has a stunning emerald coastline of sandy beaches with hidden coves and spectacular landscapes which are perfect for boating holidays or hiking. 

It is an ideal summer destination. It is a family-friendly island with gorgeous kid-friendly beaches with coves, markets, and water parks for children to enjoy. It is perfect if you want to have a beach and boating vacation as opposed to a sightseeing vacation.

The Grenadines, Caribbean

The Grenadines is a chain of islands scattered south of the Caribbean in the West Indies and is famous for its pristine beaches and seas that offer perfect sailing conditions.

The region is a popular tourist destination and with 32 islands to explore, your family will be very busy. Tropical forests set the scene along with magnificent coral reefs around Tobago Keys in the Tobago Keys National Marine Park.

Saint Vincent is a perfect place for children. Aside from the heavenly sandy beaches, there are some small theme parks and playgrounds.

Cyprus

Located south of Turkey and west of Syria lies the independent island country of Cyprus. A family holiday to Cyprus is nothing short of extraordinary. This island is filled with inspiring history and authentic hospitality. 

They have warm to hot summers all year round as winter months on the coast are very mild. There is plenty to do here, from personal well-being spas to exciting nature adventures for the whole family and entertainment for all.
