I am in training for a half marathon , it is blimmin hard work training for something like that and if you’d told me six months ago I would be doing this I would have laughed. Hysterically! I have avoided running for years but I am voluntarily putting myself through this, along with the husband and my youngest brother. We are running to raise awareness of DDH the condition that our youngest daughter has. Her battle with DDH has got me taking my health and mobility more seriously. For a child that struggled to walk the least I can do is put myself through a tough challenge. If you want to donate to our just giving page just click the link below which takes you to our page.
One of the benefits of running is how my body shape is already changing. I feel slimmer, I feel tighter and the muffin stop is reducing. I feel less heavy than I did before I took up running. My legs are way stronger and I am looking forward to showing that off in some gorgeous tights from luxery legs. They will look great with the pencil skirts I often wear to work. Infact I plan on buying some new workwear ready for the ‘Back to School’ in September. I also need some basic layer tops for when the weather turns cooler. I have been looking at the rendez vous paris brand as they have short sleeved, long sleeved and spaghetti straps all the basic staples I have in my drawers. They are simply so versatile and I prefer wearing layers to wearing big heavy jumpers. I don’t think others would notice my shape is changing yet, its quite subtle at the momnet, but what is important is how I am feeling and I am feeling so much better. We all know how you feel is important and I am feeling great.
I plan to keep on running after September but not to the extent I am training! Lee doubts my commitment as he thinks as soon as the temperature drops and the darker evening arrive you won’t see me anywhere other than snuggled on my sofa with my heated blanket! I plan to prove him wrong.
