I do like buggies! I have tried a number of different brands and makes since having Erin and really enjoy trying them out. A few months ago I was invited to be part of the Britax Mumbassador programme and I jumped at the chance. The Britax B Motion is designed for children up to four years old and has a nice big seat. Although Erin is approaching the top end of the age bracket we will be using the pushchair for a while yet due to Erin’s hypermobility which makes walking for any distance a challenge. I have put the review together after using it for a good few weeks. I don’t think a pushchair can be honestly reviewed after only a week or so’s use. You need to use it in different locations and make sure it stands the test of time.
The pushchair comes packaged in one large box and was really quick to put together. The instruction manual was easy to follow and putting it together only took half an hour. The pushchair can be used from birth and reclines flat for that purpose. You can also add a car seat or carry cot to the pushchair. If I was using with a newborn that would have been my preference as I do like using a carry cot with a tiny!
The pushchair is lightweight, it weighs 10.5 kg so although not the lightest available it is comparable with other sturdy pushchairs. I personally like one with a bit of weight especially as the child gets older. I was surprised that it had air filled rubber tyres which makes the journey really smooth and suitable for use on different terrains. This makes it ideal for nice walks off the usually roads. I was really pleased with how compact it is when folded. I have a big boot as I drive a seven seater but I still like the pushchair to fold up small. The Quinny Zapp Xtra was smaller but the disadvantage to the quinny was it is a two piece which was not so good when travelling. The B Motion would be ideal for holidays when you need a sturdy buggy. Erin hops in and out of the pushchair and for this again the B Motion is ideal. I have found with the umbrella pushchairs that when she gets out to walk a bit the umbrella buggy often tips if I have bags on. This wouldn’t happen with the B Motion.
My dad also uses the B Motion on a Monday when he has Erin and her cousin. They take turns in the buggy whilst one goes on the buggy board. The Lascal buggy board fits really well and again it suits our needs when using a pushchair with two toddlers.
The adjustable handlebar is another positive feature as my I am quite short but Lee is taller, it is easy and very quick to adjust which makes it all the more convenient and practical for the person pushing.
The hood is nice and deep which protects the child from the elements, there is also a fair sized shopping basket.
I think at approx £219 the britax B Motion is an excellent value for money stroller that I will happily continue using with Erin.
Disclosure: I was given the stroller as part of the mumbassador programme and for the purpose of this review. The photo’s opinions and thoughts are all my own.
Sharing is caring!
