This house is in celebration mode now that the GCSE’s are done. Chloe has 11 weeks of rest and relaxation planned and she deserves it. She has worked so hard all of this year and studied from mocks in Jan until the night before her final physics exam. We are now looking forward to the summer but soon enough I know her mind will return to A Level option choices and results day.
She has not quite decided on her subjects yet but Sociology and Geography will feature and it seems that we are entering yet another new phase. My millennium baby is on the cusp of something else and the girl in front of me is definitely becoming more independent. Last night I went out for dinner with my best friend, Chloe’s godmother. Faye and I became good friends at the age Chloe is now. Last night we reminisced about our friendship and how it has changed over the years.
I look forward to Chloe enjoying sixth form life and all it has to offer, I wish I could be a student for a short time once more. I loved being a student especially at University. I enjoyed it all but would probably study more if I did it again. I enjoy writing and learning and still plan to do more. I have actually been looking at some adult courses that I could do whilst the children are at school.
Blogging has allowed me to develop my creative side and I have also become a bit of a stationery addict at the same time! I am forever writing myself lists and having pretty stationery makes me happy. Did you know many powerful businessmen and women trust the pen with their success; Dragon’s Den master Peter Jones favours the Yard-O-Led Viceroy, Lord Alan Sugar’s advisor on BBC’s The Apprentice, Nick Hewer, is often seen with a Lamy, whilst Stephen King writes his thrillers with a Waterman pen and her Royal Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II, has used a Parker 51 since 1959. Therefore a gorgeous pen is a great gift idea, whether you are searching for graduation gifts, gifts for someone starting a new job or just want a really personal present for someone special a pen could be just the thing.
Pen Heaven have a huge selection to suit every budget and they sent me a few things to see the quality and just how special a stationery gift can be. The Parker Jotter is just £11.50 and therefore an ideal gift for students and it can be personalised for an additional charge. This one was personalised with my blog name – which also means that non of my kids can now claim it as theirs!!
“A pen says just as much about you as your shoes and clothes. People spend hours planning the perfect outfit but forget to consider the details, something that interviewers often pick up on. Express your personality by carrying a pen that conveys a strong message; are you quirky and creative, reliable and trustworthy, stylish, conservative or bold?” – David Cole, Pen Heaven
In addition I was also sent a stunning OHTO Slim Purple Ballpoint Pen & Amalfi Medium Leather Journal which was embossed for me. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to start using it for my blog plans and ideas. This year I have been incredibly busy on the blog with some fantastic collaborations and the more I work the more the blogs bring me. It is exciting and and can’t wait to see what else happens this year as I believe there are even bigger things to come. This new journal is going to help me be even more creative.
The journal is hand-made in Italy and can be embossed with your own message. This OHTO slim ballpoint pens will fit in the tightest planner loops. They are a perfect, slim companion to carry along with your notebooks, organisers, checkbooks and more. I will be using mine to jot ideas down as I often come up with blog ideas when I out or travelling. This will be my new companion to ensure I don’t forget my next bright idea. I often come up with blog ideas when I am in bed and I think there is no way I will forget this idea – but in the morning I cannot recall the details and I get so frustrated with myself! The journal will stop that happening!
Do you have a good luck pen or a pen that means a lot to you?
Sharing is caring!

Lol, even if I had a pen with my name on it would end up mysteriously ending up in the kids room x
I have a pen that was engraved for me and given as a gift when I graduated and ive never used it, I find it too special to use and I would be gutted if I lost it xhttps://www.emmaand3.com/
I can never hold on to a pen long enough where I work so now don’t take my nice pens to work. Its always nice to have a smart pen in your handbag or suit pocket though.
I love anything that is personalised – they make good gifts too x
Personalised gifts are the best! I always make sure anything I get my sister is personalised but that’s only because otherwise it ends up on Ebay!
A decent pen is a must. I would love a pen with my blog name on.
No I don’t but would love to have one. I saw pics of this pen and journal on your Instagram and i love both of them. So glad I read the post x
Kian still has three exams to go – really seems to be dragging now. The pen looks lovely, I don’t have a lucky one but do have a fave
