Back to work clothes! It is not only the children I kit out in August for the new school year, being a teacher means I inevitably update my wardrobe for the winter term. I have become a better shopper over the years and now think I know what suits me. I tend to buy in ranges now and co ordinate more. I am not very adventurous with colour though and stick to tried and tested combinations. I plan to get more colour into my wardrobe though.
One thing that is essential for a teacher is comfy shoes. I have flat feet and need good supportive shoes like ecco, I seem to wear shoes down in the oddest ways. Shoes and boots I wear regularly only last a short while for me. I buy myself new boots for each September and often choose Clarks as they fit me well plus the range includes some lovely styles like these with a snake skin effect.
I find it easier shopping online where all my favourite brands are in one place. Bells shoes is that place and I can fit out the whole family as they sell children’s shoes too. I always buy reputable brands for the children as since Erin has had DDH and hypermobility it has reinforced how important it is to be correctly fitted and only wear supportive shoes. I have the children measured regularly but having three children that do not liked be dragged around the shops, once I know their correct sizes I can browse and buy at my leisure. Lee is also a teacher and has recently discovered the comfort of ecco which offers well made leather shoes that are comfy and practical. As teachers we are on our feet most of the day plus we carry out duties at break and / or lunchtimes. I keep meaning to wear my pedometer when at school just to see how many steps we average. I think most people would be surprised by the result! Sitting at my desk hardly ever happens unless I have a PPA lesson to mark and plan.
I do like buying new shoes and love updating my wardrobe!
