Easter is promising to give us sunny skies if you believe the weather reports. This got me thinking about my summer wardrobe. At this time of year I find layers are best as when the sun comes out it can be deceptively warm but then the skies will change and the wind will blow. My question is Can You Wear a Jumpsuit in Your 40’s?
Jumpsuits are a great statement piece and can take you from day to evening with just some clever accessories. Now that I work freelance I rarely wear office wear. However there are times when I need something a little smarter than my trusty jeans.
Dressing colourfully is something I am trying to embrace and wearing a pop of colour under a jumpsuit can be all that is needed. I know orange and yellow work well on me and teaming it with black is easy.
I met up with my co author Lynn this week in London as we were attending an event at the rather exclusive Soho House in Deans Street. Lynn and I explored the private members club a little and wished we had more time to take photos! It was very instagram worthy! This was the perfect occasion to ditch the jeans and wear my new jumpsuit.
The jumpsuit is from Simply Be and has a nice tie detail.. The straps are a leather look and again add a twist of detail to the outfit. I teamed the jumpsuit with a soft yellow jumper from White Stuff. A fitted jumper underneath looked great and I felt stylish and dressed for the occasion. The wide leg, culotte detail is cool and perfect for spring.
In addition to the jumpsuit I also picked the silver leather freestone trainer from Daniel which is is part of the new season collection. It is a slip on trainer crafted from premium silver metallic leather featuring leather lining and a chunky rubber sole. I liked that this gave me a bit of height due to the chunky sole. This is going to be worn plenty in the summer months with shorts. For now I am wearing them with my jeans. I am wearing my boots less now that it is warmer in the afternoon when I am doing the school run. You can see all the available flat shoes here these cost just £65 in the sale. I love the colour and it seems my teen is already after borrowing them. The joys of having the same size feet!
