Chance of rain!

I have said it before, my son makes me giggle.  I love the conversations we can have and I love to record them.  So here is this weeks gem:

Background information – An arranged playdate with best friend Tom is scheduled for Friday after school.

Dylan:  I don’t think Tom should come to play on Friday.

Me: Why?

Dylan:  It’s going to rain and so there is no point coming, we can’t play football.

Me:  Well you can do something else.

Dylan:  There is nothing else to do.  Rain is coming, I don’t want Tom here.  If they said rain its going to rain.  Why would the weather forecasters get it wrong?  Its their job if they can’t get it right they shouldn’t do it.

So I agree with him but talk him into still having Tom around.  He relunctantly agrees.  When I next see Tom’s mum I tell her about this and find that Dylan had also told Tom he shouldn’t come!  Tom told Dylan he wanted to come still so Dylan said OK  but they weren’t going to have much fun!

When Friday came the day was lovely and hot and he was very cross that the forecasters had got it so wrong.  He is now going to be a weather forecaster when he grows up and actually learn how to do it right and not get it wrong.  As in his words ‘it messes up peoples plans’
