Family Bonding Activities for You to Try Out This Year

Sometimes it feels like time is passing you by without you even realizing it. This is especially the case with your children, as although it’s a cliche, they do grow up so fast. This is all the more reason to make the most of family time and bonding, whilst you’re all under one roof. Not only can this be enjoyable and a chance for you to improve your relationships, but it’s also often a great way to develop your children’s skills – or even your own! Here we will have a look at some great family bonding activities for you to try with your clan this year.

Get Active

Getting active as a family is wonderful for so many reasons – you’re improving your health, instilling good habits in your kids, and releasing feel-good hormones along the way! There are so many options for you to choose from, for any size family, and of all ages. Think about trying out the following sports:

●      Volleyball (check out womens volleyball shorts here)

●      Tennis

●      Cycling

●      Football

●      Racket sports (badminton, tennis, ping pong, racketball, squash, etc.)

●      Trampolining

These are just a few ideas that could work for you. If you can mix it up and get involved with a few different sporting activities each month, your kids will never get bored.

DIY

Who doesn’t love a good bit of Doing It Yourself?! DIY with your family is an opportunity not only to create something that can benefit your home, but it’s a chance to really teach your kids how things are built and work. At the end of it, when you’ve built your bench, painted your bedroom, or upcycled your old cabinet, you’ll all feel a real sense of pride in your combined achievement. Having more than one set of hands is also better, as you can bring different talents to the table. This is usually a better option with kids that are a bit older and understand what it is you’re doing.

Similarly, arts and crafts are a great DIY option that can be less intimidating than actually building or changing pieces of furniture in your home. Simply having a clay pot making session together can be a super learning opportunity for you all. If you don’t want to buy the tools for this yourself, then book in together for a class – there are so many creative outlets out there these days.

Travel

Travel is a hobby that feeds your mind whilst simultaneously keeping you curious. Once you get the travel bug, there’s no going back! Being able to travel with your family is a privilege that many people don’t have. So, if you can, book a trip somewhere none of you have been to. Perhaps somewhere with a different culture to what you’re used to. This allows you and your children to experience something completely novel, and to get a different perspective on how other people around the world live. It can be totally eye-opening.

This year, we encourage you to try something that you’ve never done before with your family!
