Family Fun and the Holidays Started Early

It feels a little like the summer holidays have landed early this year.  July has already seen lots of fun and laughter thanks to some pretty important family events.  Last week saw my little brother and his beautiful girlfriend graduate from University. After  three years of study they are both now graduates with the pressure of looking for employment now on their shoulders. In addition to a graduation we also had a family wedding.

Now I love a family wedding,  it is not often that the extended family all get together.  I was able to spend the day with my three cousins and their wives / husbands and children.  Obviously my brother and his family were also there and to see cousins enjoying each other’s company is always a pleasure. Erin had been so excited as it was her first wedding. She has been to evenings do’s before but she wanted to watch a wedding and especially the ‘you may kiss the bride’! Erin is a sociable little thing and along with her cousins they were soon all playing together.

Children have a brilliant knack of just playing don’t they? I had Erin asking me how she was related to other children though and that confused them somewhat.  How we had cosuins in common but were not actually related to everyone!

The wedding had so many personal touches from a photo booth, sweet trees to games for the children.

When we moved on to the reception there were games to keep everyone entertained and soon enough Erin was on the floor doing the limbo and rolling around in these crazy blow up rings.

Family events are brilliant and it always seems a shame that they are so few and far between.  But I guess that is also what makes them so special.  Next year we will be hosting our own family event as Chloe turns 18, apparently a photo booth is now on her list of must haves! Although I am not sure where we will squeeze it in!

I can’t wait for the holidays to start in earnest but this past weekend has certainly kick started our family fun.
