This past year has been challenging for everyone and with it many of us became more sendentary due to the gyms shutting and being able to get out less. Bad habits certainly slipped in for me as I moved less and eat worse. This left me feeling pretty rubbish insode and out.
January saw me embrace a three-week plan to get myself back on track, I made sure that I was training regularly and being more mindful of my body. I love weight training and if you saw my Instagram this week you will see me flipping tyres and throwing med balls about. I cannot wait for the gyms to open but until then I am getting myself ready by upping my games slightly so that it is not a total shock to the system when I step up my fitness. Now is the time to take action because lockdown has impacted in many ways, I have replaced exercise routines with stress eating which I want to address.
My 17 year old really impressed me during the third lockdown as he took up running. He did 5k every other day and got faster and faster. It was totally inspirational how focussed he became. I didn’t mange the same I just struggled with motivation.
Food also plays an important part in keeping well – this doesn’t have to be about weight and number on the scale but more about how it makes you feel.
