I am on count down now. Five more working days ahead of me until the holidays. I know that I am lucky that this long holiday stretch is a holiday for me aswell as the children. I really enjoy my time off with the children but one big implication is the cost.
Recent research highlighted that school summer holidays will cost UK parents £5.6 billion this year, according to a survey by Monkeysupermarket Vouchers.
In a survey of 3,000 parents, 64% said they were worried about how much the school holidays were likely to cost.
My Challenge:
I am going to record exactly how much the school holidays are going to cost us as a family on extra entertainment and treats out. Any places we go including entry fees and snacks will be calculated.
I have already thought one way to reduce is to give Chloe a set allowance each week. Therefore she will realise that my purse has limitations. She then has to budget for the trips to the swimming pool and sweet shop with her friends.
It would be great if anyone else wants to join in and share how much they spend and ideas to reduce. Therefore each Friday I will declare my spends and any bargains I got!
Sharing is caring!
