If you know me well you will know that I love a bargain and that I like owning luxury products. I am not exactly champagne on a Lambrini budget but I somewhere in the middle with my bottle of prosecco! I regularly share my charity shop bargains over on mums savvy savings, Erin is probably one of the only six year olds taking her tuck shop money to school in a Radley coin purse that I found in a charity shop. It was new and still in its dust bag! I still have dreams of finding that designer item that that I pick up for pounds when it is worth hundreds! I get inspired by following #charityshop and #charitybargains on Instagram! I have a favourite charity shop near my home that I call into each week on the way home from visiting my granddad. Today I am sharing a few tips and tricks for on how to buy luxury goods for less.
Erin also has a wardrobe to be proud of and I am proud that most of it has been bought in the sales. I believe that paying for some of the more expensive high street brands is a good economy as their clothes wash well and last longer. Erin loves clothes – I guess it is a by product of having a sister ten year older. Buying in the sales means that I am not so precious about her clothes as I also want her to be a typical six year old and go out and play without worrying about getting mucky.
Buying pre loved is also a great way to get good value for money and in recent years there has been a huge rise in sites to buy these. It often means that the seller makes some money which they can reinvest in new items and the new owner gets a better price. Some products especially leather ones like bags can look better with time. I adore a good bag and refuse to keep them for best. If I have ‘best things’ I know to enjoy them whilst I can. We are living in a world full of sadness and tragedy at the moment and we need to find happiness where we can.
One site that I am regularly coveting is Xupes where you can pick up designer goods like a pre-owned luxury bag for a fraction of their original price. I find it perfect and especially when you want something for a special occasion. The sharing economy and the second market is growing and I like to stay ahead of the game. Why pay more? Buying like this is also better for the environment generally and rather than be seen as being tight it is now the epitome of cool.
Buying and selling on Ebay is also popular for many and can be another alternative when buying luxury goods for less. When you buy on ebay you can also save on postage with coupons for ebay shipping which again is a good way of saving your money.
What has been your best ever bargain?
