How to Make Your Commute Less Stressful and Draining

One of the very worst things about commuting to work each day is the stress that comes with traffic, public transport, and the general mass of people who are flocking to and from their workplaces. So is it even possible to make your commute a little less stressful and draining? That’s what we’re going to talk about today, so read on to find out.

Listen to an Audiobook

If you find that you’re often bored on your commute, you could find audiobooks that you can listen to on the way. It can be fun to listen rather than read books when you’re on the move, and that’s obviously the only option when you’re behind the wheel. These can be educational or simple stories that’ll help you focus on something other than the stress of commuting.

Make Your Commuting Time Productive if You Can

Making more of your time on your commute can be another way to make it less stressful. When you’re doing something meaningful and you really feel like you’re getting something done, you get that little dopamine hit of being productive and using your time well. Sitting there getting annoyed with fellow passengers on the train is not a good use of your time.

Learn to Meditate

If stress is a real issue for you on your public transport commute, you should think about learning to meditate. It might seem like a strange thing to do when sitting on the bus or train, but it can actually make you feel a lot better. You’ll feel a lot less stressed out if you have the right techniques to call upon when the commuting stress starts to hit.

Try an Active Way of Commuting

There are so many different ways to commute, and it might be time to try an alternative to the train or car if you want to take some of the stress out of commuting. If you have the energy for it, you could ride a bike to work and be active. People take some of the hard work out of the commute by using ebikes or electric scooters. There are tons of great options that are less stressful than traditional commuting.

Car Share if You Can

Finally, you should see if you can set up a car sharing scheme with your colleagues at work. That way, you don’t have to drive yourself to work every day; instead, you can sometimes drive and other times sit back and relax while someone drives you to work. It certainly makes things a lot less stressful and relentless if you hate driving to work.

As you can see, there are lots of ways in which you can make your commute a little less stressful and draining if it’s been taking a toll on you lately. You obviously don’t want to put yourself in a position where you’re hating your commute and arriving at work feeling exhausted already. So be sure to
