If you had a day to spend……

doing what you really need to – what would it involve?

I am busy busy busy preparing for Erin’s hospital visits and impending surgery, I have been scouring the net genning up on the procedure, buying equipment and generally trying to get prepared.  As we are going to be in the cast until and over Christmas I am trying to get organised.  I am not worried about Christmas presents as those can be done online and delivered to the house.  Wrapping them will be something to do whilst sitting with Erin.  Its the smaller or more vain things I’m trying to do!  Therefore last Friday morning we both went and had our hair cut, didn’t think Erin would appreciate hair dropping down her cast –  ooooh can you image the tickly itch! So we got that done!

I have told Lee I need a morning to myself just before we go into hospital as I’ll need to have my eyebrows waxed before the monobrow is back. I need to sort out Dylan’s clothes wardrobe and drawers because I KNOW where everything is, but to be honest its a bit of an organised mess and my mother in law (who will be running the house for me, in Erin and mines absence) would not be able to find everything easily.  Talking of the mother in law coming to stay I really should defrost the freezer and clean the oven – I don’t think it has been done since she was last here!

I need to make sure Lee’s shirts are all buttoned right as he has this majorly annoying habit of telling his mum various buttons have fallen off and getting her to sew them on.  I’m sure he is quite capable if he ever set his mind to it himself though!

I need to get myself some new socks – that sounds really dull but I do.  I can’t be wandering around the children’s ward in my bare thin holey socks!  I need to have a long soak in my jacuzzi bath – I am not looking forward to the lack of privacy and  personal space whilst I’m sleeping on one of those reclining chairs next to her bed.  Especially as last time I tried to sleep it in it threw me across the room every time I moved an inch.  I remember like it was yesterday (oh it was!) lying so still and as I move the whole chair sprang to life concertinering itself and folding me up like one of those paper people you cut out.

What would you be making sure you did if you were going to be housebound for a few weeks?  I think my ‘to do’s ‘ show my lazy bits and also my vain side.
