To finish off the school holidays and celebrate my birthday we were up at the crack of dawn (well 7.45) and bundled into the car by 9 am for a day at the seaside. On arriving at Weston Super Mare the children were enticed into the money grabbing, light flashing amusements on the pier. They found this with their own inbuilt sat nav system.
After spending all their two pennys we walked along the front. With Erin out of spica I want her to experience all the things she has been missing out on. I asked if she wanted to go on the donkey.
“No mummy I want to go on a pig” was her reply.
Now I haven’t seen any pigs on the beach and said that really donkeys were the only choice. A few metres on and the 12yr old commented that she could go on those cows instead. Looking at her, then to where she was pointing I told her they were donkeys. Chloe laughing said they had looked like cows to her.
In my exaperated state I asked why cows would be on the beach when they live on farms. She couldn’t answer for laughing!
Next time a trip to the farm might be in better order!
