Last Thursday saw Erin turning two – although as Dylan kept pointing out that she wasn’t two until she actually went to bed at 7pm and really it would be better to have her birthday the following day when she is ACTUALLY 2 – he is so black and white that boy!
Nonetheless we celebrated at home and had a lovely day. Erin took her time opening the presents which was funny – she wanted to play with everything for a good half hour before moving on to the next parcel!
I blinged up the buggy with badges and balloons for the school run which she liked as she kept pointing at the badge to everyone that saw her, she does like to be noticed. As we were keeping celebrations low key I decided to focus on getting a great cake. Well Asda came to my rescue on that front and arranged one of their new 3D Cakes for Erin (according to their research some 75% of mums find the birthday party stressful – which is why they made the whole cake thing that much easier). Erin is a cheeky monkey and the cake we received was ideal for her!
When I looked at it – I thought about how to attempt to slice it up, but Asda have even sorted that for me. The cake cuts into 22 slices and there are directions on the box as to how to do this which was great for me! It really couldn’t have been simpler.
In addition to the cake its all about the outfit. I really wanted something in the party spirit but that will fit Erin in her cast. Again Erin has helped out by Vertbaudet who have some lovely party dresses and outfits. Erin was sent a frilled skirt which was very party based.
I have seen frilled skirts in lots of A/W ranges this season and I think that they are so versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. The pink also matches the cast perfectly!!
The birthday lingered over the weekend and Erin has been a very lucky girl. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. I hope its a nice new hip socket along with the cheeky character that shines through her!
