When we moved into our home Erin was six months old and therefore moving into her own room. We gave Erin the biggest of the children’s bedroom based on the basis she will have the most toys. We were not wrong. It also meant that Chloe and Dylan had rooms the same size. Sibling rivalry and all that jazz!
Erin’s room was the first room painted and decorated I wanted her to have a really lovely nursery. I choose a range from Next which looked really cute.
Then a few weeks ago Erin told me her room was for babies! She was a big girl now. I agreed with her, afterall she is starting school in September. Erin also has me wrapped around her finger and usually gets her own way! I therefore took her to Laura Ashley where we had a look at what we liked. I really like the white and clean look and decided to go for that.
We choose the Bella Butterfly range (not just because it was in the sale) as it is really pretty. I painted Erin’s walls in ‘Ballet’ from Homebase. Unfortunately it took three coats and I have spent the last three days painting. My half term break disappearing into a paint tin!
The soft colouring looks fab, I changed the curtain pole to white wood and also bought a gorgeous lampshade that has had butterflies lazer cut out. Chloe has an eye for design so she was tasked with placing the wall stickers. The finished look is perfect and I also was recently gifted a frame that showcases kids artwork so that now has a home. It means I can keep changing Erin’s pictures everytime she has a new favourite from nursery!
Erin loves her new room and I hope that she is happy with it for a good few years!
