How can this be, how can you be five next week? You are adorable and still leave me feeling so proud of you. All that you have been through and still I under estimate you. I didn’t think you’d manage full time school, and I made plans on how I would reduce your schooling hours. Yet I underestimated you. You are often fatigued and like a lie in and so I thought you would struggle.
And it is true that some days you are exhausted and bedtime still seems to far away. But usually you manage just fine.
This past year has seen you shine and sparkle. You are making up for lost time and catching up with your peers physically. You chase them and join in with all the games, yes I probably get more letters home than other parents about you visiting Mr Bumps rooms after another tumble. And yes we still have shares in calpol for your vast consumption in order to keep those pesky aches and pains away. But you give it your all.
Tonight was parents evening and I started by saying that I was amazed at just how well you were doing. Your teacher just echoed what I said, she informed me that you were a delight and you are really bright. You are excelling.
It has been fabulous to see you learning to read and write. In just a few short weeks you have learnt to read words and this excites you. You are a little sponge soaking up all the opportunities that are given to you.
This year you have mastered rollercoasters and rapids at Disney, you have cuddled up with princesses and you have learnt to seat drop on the trampoline. You have shown determination and for that I am in awe of you.
We have an Alice in Wonderland themed tea party to look forward to this weekend and presents galore. I will be watching and smiling as I reflect on just how far you have come again this year.
